To establish virtue, destroy evil, save the good I come in each yuga (age). (BG 4.8)
Hindu Dharma, or Sanatan Dharma, is the fastest growing religion in Australia according to the recent census (ABS, n.d.). Actually, Dharma is a Sanskrit non-translatable. It does not mean religion but rather has a deeper meaning which encompasses ideas of righteousness and virtue. Hindus and Indians are hardworking, law abiding, tax paying citizens of any country they call home. They migrate to Australia as it is a land of peace, stability, and opportunity.
Today, the Republic of Bharat and Islamic Republic of Pakistan are engaged in a fierce conflict which was triggered by the barbaric cold-blooded murder of Indian tourists on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam, in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, India (DDNews, n.d.). These are turbulent times for Australian Indians and Hindus. Whatever is happening in India has a deep impact on them with a subtle but definite undercurrent of fear and uncertainty for their own future and that of their loved ones in India. This is also complicated by recent attacks on Hindu temples (Reuters, n.d.) and Indian Consulates (StratNewsGlobal, n.d.) by nefarious elements in Australia.
Many people today are aware of the happenings but do not fully understand what is going on and why, due to not being presented with the facts by the mainstream media (MSM). Let us look at some examples of what the MSM, both Australian and Global, have said about the massacre –
- The New York Times – At Least 24 Tourists Gunned Down by Militants in Kashmir – (New York Times, n.d.).
- CNN – Dozens killed as gunmen massacre tourists in Kashmir beauty spot – Jessie Yeung (Yeung, n.d.).
- The BBC – Rage and despair after brazen attack kills 26 in Indian-administered Kashmir (BBC, n.d.).
- The ABC Australia – At least 26 people dead after militants attack group in Indian-controlled Kashmir (ABC, n.d.)
- The Sydney Morning Herald – Gunmen kill dozens of tourists at a resort deemed ‘mini-Switzerland’ in disputed Kashmir – Aijaz Hussain (Hussain, n.d.).
Did you notice the choice of words? Use of “militants” or “gunmen” instead of terrorists, “Indian-controlled-Kashmir” instead of State of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Notice also the absence of usage of Hindu despite the truth that those killed were because they were Hindus. Important to note here that Pakistan illegally occupied parts of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in 1948 belonging to India, who has time and again laid its rightful claim to it. The MSM have attempted to dilute the truth. This sets the tone for their future reporting whenever India responds to Pakistan.
Background to the current Bharat-Pakistan conflict
The recent ongoing conflict between the Republic of Bharat and Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and related news articles, should be seen in this context. The conventional Western Mainstream Media (MSM) is curiously quite hostile to the truth and happenings on the ground. Opposite to what you might have been led to believe, this is not a fight between a “bully” India against a “victim” Pakistan, nor a “reaction” from a Hindu majority country against its neighbor due to “Islamophobia”. Rather this is a calculated, measured, non-escalatory, proportionate response (GOI, n.d.) to the cold-blooded massacre of 28 Indian tourists on 22 April 2025 in the picturesque Pahalgam, Kashmir situated 200km away from the Line-of-Control between India and Pakistan.
It is important to remember that out of those 28 murdered by the terrorists, 27 were Hindu males who were killed after unable to recite the kalma (Quranic verses) or after their pants were pulled down to check if they had khatna (circumcision), a religious practice done for Muslim boys. The perpetrators believed in the ideology as preached to them via the mullahs at madrassas in Pakistan. It is likely that there are many other invisible powers outside Pakistan supporting their growth. They are radicalized based on their extremist teachings. How is this not a massacre based on religion? Have you come across this fact in any of the MSM channels?
Krishna and Shishupala
There is a famous story in Mahabharata of Shishupala who was born to the king of the Chedi kingdom. His mother, the Queen, was the sister of Krishna’s father Vasudeva. That meant Krishna and Shishupala were cousins. He was an extraordinary child born with four hands and three eyes. This scared his family and relatives, so they decided to cast him out. However, a pronouncement from heaven was made “O king, do not fear your child but cherish him. He will grow up to be a man of great strength and power. However, his extra arms and eye will disappear only in the lap of his killer.” Shishupala’s parents called all their relatives and nearby kings to check the prophecy and put the child in everyone’s lap. When Shishupala was put in Krishna’s lap, his extra arms and eye disappeared thus revealing that Krishna would be the one to kill him. Worried, the Queen requested her nephew Krishna to forgive Shishupala for a hundred misdeeds and only kill him when he exceeds the limit. Krishna agreed. This news made Shishupala dislike Krishna since childhood. Shishupala grew up to be a tyrant and an unjust King who unleashed terror on his subjects.
Rukmi, a prince from Vidarbha, wanted his sister Rukmini to marry Shishupala. Rukmini wasn’t in favour and instead wanted to marry Krishna, and so the pair eloped and married. Neither Rukmi nor Shishupala was able to stop Krishna. This aggravated the rivalry between Shishupala and Krishna.
Once, the Pandavas organised the Rajasuya Yagna, for peace and prosperity, during the establishment of the capital city of Indraprastha. All the kings of Aryavarta were invited including Shishupala and Duryodhana. Duryodhana and his maternal uncle Shakuni knew if the Pandavas completed the Yagya, they would be granted the supreme power in the entire Aryavarta, land of Bharat. They could not stand this and wanted to obstruct the ceremony. However, they also knew that they themselves cannot cause any suspicions due to the presence of Krishna and Grandsire Bheeshma, so they asked Shishupala who was sitting next to them.
Shishupala who was already looking for chances to belittle Krishna made the most of this opportunity. He began insulting Krishna, the Pandavas, and even Draupadi. He questioned the relationship between Krishna and Draupadi and commented on their character. Krishna tolerated his abuses, but when Shishupala maligned Draupadi, his hundred sins were completed and Krishna immediately killed Shishupala using the Sudarshan Chakra. Note that Krishna showed immense tolerance and restraint and was true to his promise to not kill Shishupala until he committed a hundred sins.
Dharma has always stood up to Adharma since time immemorial.
Over past two centuries, Hindus and many others who followed Sanatana Dharma in different forms have borne the brunt of the genocide unleashed by the two Abrahamic religions, namely Christianity and Islam. Today the silent majority who claim theirs is a “religion of peace” according to their holy book, are watching their brothers unleash terror in all parts of the world, in the name of the same book. If this is not cognitive dissonance, then what is? Many other civilizations have been totally wiped from the face of the earth under the onslaught of the barbarians. Only Jews (although Abrahamic) and Hindus have shown the courage and ability to stand firm in their belief of protecting their way of life.
The modern era has brought war much closer to the common people thanks to mainstream and social media. However, this has also led to an explosion in fake news, subversion of facts, and blatant promotion of propaganda, all done whilst sitting in democratic countries which claim to be secular and promote separation of church from state aggressively. This is the play of the leftists, communists, and true fascists who want to suppress any type of freedom of the masses. These Globalists and Deep State actors also control the mainstream media and are actively engaged in obfuscating the reality for this purpose (ScientificAmerican, n.d.). A major psychological operation (psyop) is underway, with few voices telling the truth.
Whenever Muslims are in the line of fire and killed by “non-Muslims”, the world mainstream media is quick to jump in and claim “islamophobia”. Remember Christchurch shooting? Who can forget the ongoing protests, riots, and millions of dollars collected for Gaza and Palestine?

On the other hand, the plight of Hindus, Yazidis, etc. is never of concern to the MSM. It is almost like they are hand-in-glove with the perpetrators when these people are killed for their beliefs. The fact is that the world over, one sect of Muslims is responsible for the murder, killings, rapes, beheadings of the other sect of Muslims only because they believe their version is the real Islam or the others are not real Muslims. Muslims are responsible for the largest deaths of other Muslims today the world over, just look at Syria, Iran-Iraq, Saudi-Yemen, Afghanistan etc. Such has been the case for centuries. The history is right before us, only never honestly discussed or disclosed for fear of retribution or fear of being racist or Islamophobic. No media outlet states this clearly and unambiguously.

Instead, you are also constantly being bombarded and reminded that Narendra Modi is leading a fascist government and is on the way to becoming a dictator. This is despite winning the Indian national elections thrice, with majority, and democratically. The media makes it seem that Muslims are unsafe in India which has led to the current situation, like it’s a fight between two brothers, ignoring the fact that the partition of India on religious lines.
When India was getting its freedom from Great Britain, Pakistan was created because the Muslims did not want to live in the same country as the Hindus. Pakistan was further broken into two countries after the 1971 war. West Pakistan is today’s Pakistan, while Bangladesh which was the erstwhile East Pakistan, came into being because the Muslims of West Pakistan committed immeasurable atrocities against those of East Pakistan leading to a humanitarian crisis.

Just like Krishna, Indians and Hindus have tolerance and patience in their DNA. This is due to their belief in Sanatana Dharma and its philosophy that the world is one family (vasudhaiva kuțumbakam). Hindus have shown great magnanimity in welcoming and embracing other oppressed people over centuries, Jews, Syrian Christians, Parsis to name a few.
The paradox of tolerance
If a society extends tolerance to those who are intolerant, it risks enabling the eventual dominance of intolerance; thereby undermining the very principle of tolerance (Karl Popper).
Tolerance of Hindus and Indians has been tested many times over centuries and more recently since India got its independence from the British in 1947. There is a time where this tolerance must end, a time where instigators must be brought to justice. The time is now.
Like Shishupala, Pakistan has been allowed to nurture and spread terrorism and its brand of oppressive religious fanaticism far too long. It has trained mercenaries, and it has been the beehive of terrorists who have created havoc in the world. If terrorism must end, then all possible efforts and actions must be undertaken not only by the Government of India but the whole world.
The Shishupala moment might be upon Pakistan.
