When A Bindu (Dot) Created A Paridhi (Circle) Of Impact
It was especially meaningful that Ekal Rangmanch was held on World Tribal Day in Melbourne on 9 August 2026, making it a perfect occasion to create awareness about Ekal Vidyalaya and its mission of bringing education and empowerment to rural and tribal communities across India.
Ekal Melbourne President Rahul Gupta explained Ekal’s unique five-fold education system and how its community-driven model ensures that contributions are thoughtfully and responsibly utilised to maximise impact. General Secretary Kanchan Joshi shared a powerful perspective that giving should come with emotion and a sense of inclusion — that a vana yAtrA (visit to a tribal village) is not simply about what we receive as donors, but about making communities feel that they are an integral and valued part of our larger society. The powerful Ekal presentation and closing video reinforced this message, leaving the audience inspired. The evening was beautifully hosted by Kunal and Priya, whose engaging MCing kept the audience connected throughout. The impact even crossed the language barrier, with Rotarians who did not understand Hindi sharing that they could still understand and connect with the essence of the message.
The heart of the evening was “bindu Ki paridhi,” created and directed by Mr. Vipin Gaindhar, and brought alive brilliantly by the entire cast. Ekta as Paridhi and Isha as Bindu delivered memorable performances, supported by a talented ensemble that brought the story, dialogues, poetry, music and emotions to life. The audience laughed, reflected and even shed tears — a testament to the powerful storytelling and performances. The Kalyani Kathak School dancers added grace, charm and beautiful coordination, while 13-year-old Jill deserves special appreciation for her graceful performance and wonderful spirit of giving back to society. The evening was further elevated by the sensational singing of Atul Fotedar and the wonderful musical performances. Every artist contributed to making the evening truly special.
Behind this memorable evening stood an equally dedicated Ekal Volunteers Team. Heartfelt appreciation to Rahul Gupta, Kanchan Joshi, Mona Bhasin, Sanjeev Bhasin, Rajeev Wadhwa and Kanishka Goel, Vipin Gaindhar along with every volunteer who contributed their time, skills and energy. From planning and ground coordination to backstage, sound, photography and hospitality, every contribution mattered. Special mention to Kanchan Joshi for the beautiful posters and souvenir booklet, which gave the event a strong creative identity.
A sincere thank you to the Sound Team, Backstage Team, Photographer and everyone who supported the programme wholeheartedly. Together, this team proved that when people come together with a shared purpose, even one small idea can create a powerful impact.
Ekal RangManch was not just a successful event — it was a celebration of talent, teamwork and purpose. What began as one idea and one Bindu has now created the beginning of a much larger Paridhi.
